This interactive workshop will provide Media Artists with the tools and resources to prepare a clear and concise grant application for their individual projects. During the two-hour session, the instructor will review the process of planning, writing and submitting a grant proposal. The instructor will also provide step-by-step instruction on how to complete a project description, budget, work plan and review how to prepare effective support material. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their grant proposal with the instructor and group, who will provide feedback on their works in progress.

Instructor: Maya Bedward Maya Bedward is a filmmaker, arts administrator and media arts educator based in Toronto. For six years, she worked at the Ontario Arts Council, providing program information and grant writing support to artists and arts professionals. In 2012, she launched her production company, Third Culture Media with support from the Michaëlle Jean Foundation. Her films have screened at festivals across North America and Europe and sold to Air Canada and the CBC. Maya is currently in development on her first feature, BLACK ZOMBIE, a documentary about slavery, resistance and the living dead.
