Oppressions in the Kitchen

This discussion will explore different experiences of exploitation in restaurant kitchens, and how this relates to aspects of the #MeToo movement. Facilitators will provide youth with tools to advocate for safer and more equitable work environments. The evening will provide an opportunity to learn from community members leading innovative, inclusive kitchen spaces and get the opportunity to engage in civic activism against oppressive food spaces. A dinner will be provided, free of charge. There will be a panel discussion, followed by a hands-on button-making and social media workshop.
