Somewherelse presents a special one-day immersive exhibition to launch international filmmaker Sara Elgamal’s latest documentary film “A Piece Of Me.”

Shot in the breathtaking desert of the Afar region in Ethiopia, “A Piece Of Me” is a visually stunning campaign that celebrates the strength and stories of women who refuse to be defined by their past trauma.

Produced in collaboration with UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, “A Piece Of Me” tells the story of Zahra, Abida and Khadija, three survivors of female genital mutilation (FGM), with the aim of raising global awareness of the urgent need to take action to help end FGM.

This special one-day exhibit produced by Somewherelse will bring to life “A Piece Of Me” via multimedia, site-specific installations to inspire and educate.

Schedule

Daytime Exhibit runs from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and guests are welcome to drop in any time. “A Piece Of Me” is a short film series and will be running on a loop throughout the exhibit.

Evening Reception starts at 7:00 PM and is 19+. This is a private event, to request tickets please RSVP at the Eventbrite link.

Somewherelse is a Toronto-based, artist-to-brand experiential team. We are thrilled to partner with Sara and UNFPA to bring “A Piece Of Me” to life, immersing attendees in the experience of this truly necessary conversation.
