You will be introduced to the medium of 360 video. 360 video is an immersive and new technology that can used for artistic, educational, or documentary purposes. This workshop will allow you to try 360 experiences from various sources including PC tethered headsets to mobile solutions. We will discuss how assets are acquired and assembled and do an overview of video capture and post techniques. We will touch on video stitching, motion graphics, and distribution platforms. Participants will be able to experience passive as well as interactive experiences. We will be demoing experiences on the Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, Google Daydream, and Oculus Go/Samsung Gear360 platforms.

This workshop is an introduction to the field of 360 immersive media and would be helpful to anyone interested in virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality.

Instructor: Hiep Vu

Hiep Vu is a commercial video producer and photographer with 20 years experience. A leader in cutting edge technologies, Hiep has been working in the immersive content field for over 6 years, having led training and production on projects for numerous commercial and institutional clients. Hiep’s expertise in VR and immersive technologies is leading him to explore interactive content production and emerging content platforms as means to distribution.
