Blackout Eid: Ifrah Hussein, Faiza, Obuxum

June 8–9

In Mezzanine

Ahay with NXNE, presents the first ever #BlackoutEid concert in Toronto featuring an all Black Muslim women lineup of artists.

Don’t miss out on a killer lineup: Award-winning poet Ifrah Hussein, new-age R&B singer and songwriter Faiza, vibey and afro-futuristic producer and beatmaker Obuxum, DJ Hangaelle with the bangers and the perfect combo of rap, trap, and afro-beats, Nomad Nala of Ahay with the diasporic sounds that weave genres and time, and the uber smart and moving poet Timaaj Hassen.

A sneak peek of what we have planned: arrive in your best Eid fit, we’re taking pics and crowning a winner. Listen to the brilliant words of poets. Watch artists perform live. Dance the night away to the sounds of afro-beats, hip-hop, and maybe even Arabic rap by some of the best DJs from Toronto. Our friends, Khalibre’s Cookhouse will be providing delicious halaal meets soul food for purchase. Khalibre’s Cookhouse is run by a Black Muslim woman and she’s killing it.🤤

See you there! Stay tuned for our schedule!
